Rowley Mile Equine provides comprehensive sport horse pre-purchase examinations for horses intended for competition, leisure, and investment. Our veterinarians have extensive experience in orthopaedics, sports medicine, and performance analysis, allowing us to assess not only current soundness, but future athletic potential.

Pre-purchase examinations are tailored to the discipline, level, and intended use of the horse, and may include:

  • Full five-stage clinical examinations

  • Flexion testing and ridden or in-hand assessment

  • Digital radiography, ultrasonography, and advanced imaging where indicated

  • Interpretation of existing radiographic repositories

FLAT & NATIONAL HUNT

Rowley Mile Equine veterinarians attend all major Flat and National Hunt Thoroughbred sales across the UK, Ireland, and France. We provide independent clinical assessments for purchasers, including:

  • Pre-sale clinical appraisals

  • Repository radiograph evaluation

  • Upper-respiratory endoscopic interpretation

In the lead-up to sales, we work closely with stud farms and consignors to prepare high-quality radiographs and video endoscopes for repository submission, ensuring horses are presented to a professional and transparent standard.

We also perform horses-in-training and Hong Kong–style pre-purchase examinations, delivered throughout the UK, Ireland, and continental Europe, providing clear, performance-focused assessment for purchasers of horses already in work.
