Regenerative Medicine and Sports-Medicine Therapies

At Rowley Mile Equine, we offer a comprehensive range of regenerative and adjunctive therapies delivered in the field, selected and applied based on individual case assessment and diagnostic findings. These treatments form an integral part of our sports-medicine approach, allowing targeted management of musculoskeletal injury with a clear focus on healing, rehabilitation, and return to performance.

ALPHA-2-MACROGLOBULIN (A2M)

Alpha-2-Macroglobulin is an autologous biologic therapy used in the management of joint inflammation and early degenerative joint disease. Administered in the field following appropriate diagnostic evaluation, A2M aims to inhibit destructive enzymes within the joint and support long-term joint health in performance horses.

PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP)

PRP is prepared from the horse’s own blood and contains a concentrated source of platelets and growth factors that promote tissue repair. It is commonly utilised in tendon and ligament injuries and can be administered in the field as part of a structured rehabilitation programme. PRP may also be used in selected joint and soft-tissue conditions where appropriate.

PRO-STRIDE®®

Pro-Stride® combines platelet-rich plasma with anti-inflammatory proteins, providing both regenerative and anti-inflammatory effects. It is frequently used in joint pathology where inflammation contributes to reduced performance and is administered in the field following case-specific assessment.

STEM CELL THERAPY

Stem cell therapy is offered in selected cases of tendon, ligament, and joint injury where enhanced regenerative potential is indicated. Following thorough diagnostic investigation, treatment can be delivered in the field with careful case selection, timing, and monitoring to support optimal tissue repair and long-term soundness.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
(FOCUSED & RADIAL)

We provide both focused and radial shockwave therapy in the field, allowing treatment to be tailored precisely to the tissue type, depth, and pathology involved. Supported by scientific evidence, shockwave therapy is used to stimulate healing, improve circulation, and modulate pain, either alone or as part of a combined regenerative treatment plan.
